In order to kill bed bugs you must be determined and follow a consistent plan of action. These nuisances are becoming an increasing problem for all types of people. Infestations are becoming more and more a problem in apartments, condos, hotels, motels, dorms and anywhere else where people live closely together.
They were once thought controlled because of the use of the now banned chemical DDT, but in the last few years, the problem has returned and started growing again. Getting rid of the pests has also become more of a problem now then in the past.
Many people think that the resurgence of the bedbug is due to two main facts. One is that the bug is more resistant to the way and the chemicals that exterminators try to control them. The other is the fact that the pest can hitch a ride in luggage and go by trains, plane and cars rapidly around the globe. The chemicals that are the most effective against the bedbugs is a powder that is designed to dry out their shell. It adheres to them when they crawl across it on their way to victims.
The bedbug can go as long as a year without feeding so even though a new place may look free of the pest they may still be there. New places should be thoroughly treated and cleaned before you move into them. If you have an infestation in your home there are several steps that you must take to rid yourself of them.
First, de-clutter to remove potential hiding places from an infested area. Most often infestations are around the bed since the bug feeds late at night before the morning light. Thoroughly clean around the bed,the actual bed frame, any furniture in the area and behind nearby hangings on the walls. You must be very determined when you start looking for the bugs. They are very talented at hiding in the smallest of areas. and you must be very determined to find them.
Once the area is cleaned, either you or a professional should treat with a product designed to kill bed bugs. Make sure that you include also all areas that the bugs could be using for entering your home. You can get rid of them, you just need to be organized and determined.
